The Financial Analyst will support the Corporate Finance Department in monthly closing, forecasting, financial reporting and annual budget plan preparation. Under the guidance of FP&A managers, they’ll prepare projections of revenue and expense, analyze financial results and performance measures, develop and manipulate spreadsheets, databases, and data analytical tools to produce standard and ad hoc reports for management. This role will have increasing responsibilities for profitability analysis, department budgeting process, and the calculation of performance ratios. They’ll interact regularly with Marketing, IT, Legal, Client Services, Product Services, Investment Operations and Accounting, enabling them exposure to other parts of the firm.

Essential Duties

  • Utilize our business intelligence software to prepare monthly forecast of AUM, revenue and expense based on input provided by various business units within the firm
  • Develop and maintain dynamic forecast models and their underlying assumptions
  • Perform variance analysis comparing actual to forecasted values and provide suggestions for improvement
  • Prepare, analyze and research P&L related items used for profitability analysis
  • Maintain database accuracy of key financial metrics (FTE’s, AUM and other financial metrics)
  • Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors and Credit Agency presentations
  • Provide support for the accurate and timely preparation of financial and accounting reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
  • 4-6 years of related general accounting or financial analysis experience required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required (e.g. pivot tables, vertical look up, index/match, sum ifs, and nested if statements)
  • Proficiency with financial business intelligence software (e.g. BI360, Power BI, Tableau, or Hyperion). BI360 and Power BI are preferred

  • Self-starter with solid communication and analytical skills required to meet aggressive financial deadlines under time constraints
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees in cross functional teams
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to high standard of professional conduct

Desired Qualifications

  • Financial forecasting experience
  • Experience working in asset management or related industries
